Enclosed shoes for safety (runners or joggers are good), a hat and bring a warm jacket as it can get quite cold out on the water in the winter months. Don’t forget to bring your camera/video camera, spare batteries and memory cards.

Arrive 30 mins prior to departure. The boat leaves on time and if you miss it there are no refunds.
Sea sickness – Visit your chemist the day before to ensure you make the most of you cruise. Sorry – no refunds for sea sickness.

For passengers travelling on Wild One please note

  • Persons who may be pregnant, suffer from back, neck or heart conditions, or have previous injuries that may cause a risk to their health, may not travel on Wild One.
  • All passengers must sign a personal assumption of risk form to ride on Wild One.

The most common whales we see are Humpback Whales, you may see Minke Whales or False Killer Whales. Apart from the larger whales you might be lucky enough to see some Dolphins, Turtles, Stingrays and don’t forget those beautiful Sea Birds.

Some people never get sea sick, the lucky ones, but for others BE PREPARED. Visit your chemist for appropriate medication or remedies. We advise you to take something if you are unsure – don’t let sea sickness spoil your day! This vessel has NO wheelchair access.

ABSOLUTELY NOT – but we can often get so close that you can smell them and hear them, but only if they want to.  We must stand off 100 meters from the adults & 300 meters from the cows & their young but they can come right up to the boat if they want – and they often do!

We will endeavour to get all trips out but sometimes weather prevents the trip from going ahead and for safety reasons the cruise will be cancelled. The skipper of the boat has the final say and if the trip is cancelled you will be transferred to the next available day.

We endeavour to make a decision by 7am each morning, we will contact you if the trip is cancelled by 7:30am.

It is recommend that patrons allow 30 minutes to find parking and walk to the Whale One office.

Whale One departs from The Wharf, 123 Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba (opposite Underwater World) which is a leisurely 5-7 minute walk from the Mooloolaba esplanade.
