Today we saw 2 pods of Humpback whales, a mother and calf about 1 nautical mile East of Point Cartwright, who were enjoying the calm, sunny conditions. These two whales gave us some lovely fluke up dives and close encounters. “Whale One” then came across another pod of mother, calf and escort, who again came quite close to the boat with displays of more fluke up dives and close encounters.
Great whale activity this afternoon on board Whale One! Just 3 miles out we saw two lots of mother and calves who displayed peduncle throws and fluke up dives. Another mother and calf were happy to play for us shortly after that! We saw breaching from the mother and half breaching from the calf! Calm conditions out on the water and an enjoyable afternoon out whale watching!
