Only 4 nautical miles out this morning we had a mother humpback and her calf. The calf was doing some head lunging then mum did 2 huge corkscrew breaches for us! We headed onto Old Woman Island and saw 6 whales acting a little boisterous doing some pushing and shoving between each other.
Our afternoon of whale spotting begun 1.6 miles off the beach when we came across a pod of 3 adults and one if them was waving hello with some massive tail slaps!
After spending some time with time those three we moved onto a beautiful mum and calf. These 2 whales gave us some close encounters as they swam right up to the boat. The calf was very small and looked to only be 3 or 4 days old! The day was awesome perfectly complimented by the stunning weather.
