Whale watching report, Saturday 30th September 2017

Saturday 30th September, report from Shorty at the helm.

The morning cruise started off very quiet with the ocean dead flat calm, and the humpbacks talking advantage of the smooth seas by resting or spending long periods underwater. Our best pod was right in front of Mooloolaba beach only 300 m out from the shark nets, this pod of 4, mum calf and two escorts. The little calf was on the surface most of the time and swimming past our boat a few times.
The second cruise we ended up 3 miles off Mooloolaba and started with another mum calf and 3 escorts, the calf doing the odd peduncle throw and showing us his belly. We finished in style with another mum calf and escort and the calf breached for the last 10 mins right beside our boat.

With limited seats I would recommend booking the early cruise on board Wild One, http://whaleone.com.au/…/wild-one-2-5-hour-adventure-whale…/

ONBOARD WHALE ONE  Adults only $69 and Children 4 – 14 years are $46.  FREE under 4. FREE – tea, coffee & snack

ONBOARD WILD ONE Adults still only $69 and Children Under 15 years $46. We don’t recommend under 4 travel on the “Wild One”
