The whales were hard to find out on the water today. We had a 15 knot northerly wind blowing and a one metre swell. The conditions improved throughout the trip although we needed to travel 15 miles off shore. We finally came upon a pod of three whales which put on a great display of pec flapping, spy hops, tail slaps both up and down. They circled the boat and gave us some very close encounters with them. Lots of great photographs were taken.
