Whales proved a little illusive in the choppy conditions, until a breach was sighted 2 nautical miles, dead ahead. It was not long before we were up close and personal with our first pod. Their down times (time spend under the water) were extensive, however when the whales graced the surface they were very acrobatic with a couple of lovely breaches close to the boat.
