Another day in paradise where it is hard to disagree when passengers say, “You’ve got the best job in the world!”. The 15 – 25 knot winds forecast ended up as 5 – 10 variable, making a great day cruising off the Sunshine Coast under cloudless skies.
We found the first whales (a mother, calf and escort) five miles northeast of the river and with these being quiet, we elected to follow another passing mother and calf. After good but quiet viewing, we left these and searched further north hopefully for more acrobatic mating rituals.
Not too much later as we approached Coolum, we found a very active couple that seemed to want to show their complete array of airborne tricks. Awesome day enjoyed by all!!
