Another beautiful sunny day on the coast except the north-easter kicked in a bit harder than expected (or wanted). The morning trip had us joining a mother, her calf and an escort just south of the Blinker. They were initially quite illusive but after a while got more friendly and put on a good show with a couple of breaches and head lunges before we headed back in. The numbers of calves now appearing are great for everyone.
The afternoon trip was the shortest we’ve had. We left the river with a load of anticipating whale watchers only to decide conditions had deteriorated too much since the morning and were not suitable for the cruise. A return tip was offered to all and we look forward to the weather dropping down to be great again by Wednesday.
