With such stormy and windy conditions initially it was hard to believe the forecast would get better, however it was not long before the sky cleared and the wind abated.
We come across several humpback whale pods today, mostly mothers and calves. The highlight of our day was when a mother and calf engaged in feeding at the water’s surface, The mother had her tail fluke vertical for ten minutes while the calf fed. We also had a brief mugging when another inquisitive humpback mother and calf came right up beside the boat only several meters away.
