We finally threw the ropes and ventured out onto the open ocean after a couple of days of being held up at dock due to high winds. Today we came across several pods including mothers and calves. The whales seemed be rather interested in getting back down to the Antarctic Waters to get ready for feeding season. We had some close encounters but the highlight of today were some inquisitive dolphins. They played beside the boat and had a great time riding our bow wave. What a nice surprise for our guests. Another exciting day on Whale One!
