As we departed the river mouth of Mooloolah River we were greeted by a velvety calm ocean. We discovered a 2 whale pod early on in the trip. It began with a fascinating close encounter which gave us a wonderful viewing opportunity. They came so close we were able to get a good look at their distinctive markings as the glided past on the waters surface. We then decided to venture further east and found a great pod that showed us some beautifully graceful displays. It seems the whales are giving us a fantastic farewell as they head back down to the Antarctic for the summer months.
