The day was beautiful on board the Whale One today. The blue skies made the sun shine and the whales out for some play.
About 8 miles south east of Point Cartwright we found a pod of 2 plus two singles cruising along in the warm waters of Mooloolaba. These whales turned in to a competition pod giving us breaches 100 meters from the boat bow with plenty of passengers smiling. They did tail slaps and turned upside down. Single pec slaps while they amazed us with bubble blowing underwater, something dolphins do as well. More whales were spotted out further but on our return trip we had a junior whale give us three breaches and saw a leather back turtle. Seas today had half a meter chop with 12 knots of breeze. A spectacular display!!!
