A brisk morning turned into a magnificent day aboard Whale One today. With two trips scheduled for this day of blue skies and calm winds. This morning was heavily booked and the dolphins and whales came out to visit. About 11 miles east of Mt Coolum we spotted three pods of two. One pod splashed about enjoying their onlookers, they were doing peduncle dives and upside down tail slaps. As the passengers were amazed at their beauty and grace they swam over and under the vessel while turning back and doing an upside down return. This pod continued to swim along side the vessel. We had some very curious dolphins with one swimming over to peek an eye at the visitors to the sea. Again on our way home to the wharf another whale was seen with more fantastic photographs snapped. The sea conditions were to improve for the afternoon cruise. Whale One was late departing due to some shortage of parking in Under Water World and the Council car park on the corner of River Esplanade and the entrance to Under Water World. We ask that as the Whale Season is in full action that you give yourselves plenty of time to arrive before departure.
Eleven miles east of Point Cartwright our first view of whales was a pod of four. These whales split into 2 pods with tail throws, pec slaps and bubble blowing. We then followed a single whale which gave us some fluke up dives. Again some wonderful memories to treasure and great photos to keep.
