This morning we saw a total of 12 whales, with lots of activity. Weather conditions were perfect, with only a 1m lazy swell and no wind!

While heading towards the HMAS Brisbane we spotted 2 whales, acting a bit lazy. We headed on to a pod of 4 whales which looked a bit more active. They treated us to some fluke up-dives and after following them for a while we saw lots of dolphins and some fish jumping out of the water – possibly to escape those pesky dolphins!

We followed 2 more whales for a while and then came across a competition pod of 4 whales, which were doing a lot of pushing and shoving, plus some bubble blowing. Overall, some pretty aggressive behaviour. They came in for some close encounters too.

On our way back to shore, we encountered 1 whale having a lot fun breaching, doing pectoral slaps, and tail slaps.

This afternoon we spotted 10 whales, but they were all feeling a bit tired. We saw one breach in the distance, and also some tail slapping, peduncle throws and fluke up-dives. We also spotted some dolphins.
