This morning we saw a mother, calf and escort. Interestingly the most was entirely black- even on her underside, though the calf was traditional colors. The calf was very entertaining with upside down tail slaps, breaches and pectoral waves, he was even resting on the mothers nose. Mum was showing off as well with tail throws and slaps. We also saw a single whale further out but spent our time with the mother and calf as they headed inshore to about a half mile off the coastline. There was a lazy swell with a little chop today with 15-20 knot winds so we were glad to be close in. The afternoon cruise today was cancelled.
