Today Whale One passengers & crew cruised out in beautiful conditions but it was rather quiet on the whale highway today, giving passengers an extended trip our first sighting was 16 nautical miles off Mooloolaba where we saw a pod of 4 juvenile humpbacks heading north and playfully performing tail slaps, our patient passengers were rewarded with close encounters and muggings right beside the vessel. A great day was had by all.
Up close & personal Tail Slapping display.
This action is brought on by excitement. The Humpback is displaying his/her massive tail fluke by slapping it down with intense power creating lots of noise.
