This morning the crew found a mother and calf 1.5 nautical miles 1 mile E of Point Cartwright, then found a competition pod, joined by another 3 whales and the chase was on! Boys trying to catch the girls, all passengers on board highly amused by their antics. The calf was very interactive and continuously tail slapping with lots of close encounters as we cruised along.
This afternoon we saw a mother and calf with escort 2 nautical miles E of Point Cartwright, which were joined by a pod of friendly dolphins who all played well in the sandpit together giving our guests a great show. In fact, Skipper Wayne said it was the best show he has seen in all his Whale Watching days. There were whales everywhere we looked.
