Happy Halloween. The whales sure gave us a treat this morning. We spotted some large tail slaps 3 nautical miles off Point Cartwright and when we went to investigate a mother and her calf were playing on the surface. The calf entertained our guests with head lunges, breaches and peduncle throws. On our return journey 2 pods of mother and calf met us near the entrance to the river, coming right up to the boat for a close encounter followed by some more breaching.
This afternoons cruise also had a mother and her calf, frolicking in the warm waters near Mooloolaba. Lots of breaching Tail slaps and a big breach from mum at the end. What a great day!
