Spectacular weather today for the school holidays and with no waves, we could see whales for miles. The clear visibility and calm conditions gave us a chance to get up close and personal with dozens of these majestic giants. We saw over 20 pods of whales today, with the majority just relaxing in the calm water and slowly cruising north and three pods showing us 100% surface time as they slept in the winter sun. Two energetic pods gave us a treat with head lunges, pec slaps and some beautiful fluke up dives. A pod of inquisitive larger adults come right up to the boat for a close encounter, looking straight at us as they circled.
