This morning we headed north in search of our gentle giants and found a pod of 3 whales 6ml off the point at Noosa. Judging by their size, they were about six or seven years old. One of the whales broke away from the pod and came over to our boat for a close encounter. He played around us for about 5mins before joining his friends. The group did some spectacular fluke up dives, showing off their beautiful tail patterns. The visibility today was incredible so we headed alongside the wreck of the Brisbane for a closer look. We saw several pods of dolphins as we cruised along and came across another pod of two large whales just off the rock wall at Mooloolaba. With both the Pacific Explorer and the Young Endeavour at Mooloolaba today, it was a gorgeous day on the water.
