Our conditions were just stunning and the whales today certainly showed off for us! Only 2.5 nautical miles off Point Cartwright we spotted out first whales. We had multiple pods in sight but some breaching in the distance got our attention. We had a single female breaching and not far from her were two large males breaching. These 3 whales joined up and the males were showing off for this lady. She used the boat as a shield as the gentlemen swum around biding for her attention. One of these males had unusual markings underneath that was spots of black a white! These whales gave us some peduncle throws and splashed about.
Later in the morning, we had a pod of 2 whales came in to us who were breaching and blowing bubbles. Another pod of 4 whales joined up which gave us a pod of 6!
We saw a total of 13 whales today as well as large pods of dolphins and a huge green seas turtle! The dolphin pod even guided us back to Point Cartwright!
