What a fantastic day for whale watching. The whales were in nice and close to shore and our spotter up on Point Cartwright hill had us tracking towards our first pod immediately. We found a pod of 3 whales just a quarter of a mile off Mudjimba Island. The mother, calf and escort had great surface time, relaxing as they headed south east and the calf surprised us with a few spy hops. Closer to Point Cartwright we found a second pod of three, also a mother, calf and escort. They showed us some spectacular peduncle throws as they rounded the point.
