The skipper said, “Our first cruise today the whales went nuts”. We found a mum and calf five minutes off the headland and they were amazing! It started with the mum performing huge head lunges followed by the calf breaching at least 30 times close to everyone on board. Mum then showed us how she can breach which was a spectacular sight for all to see. We finished with the little calf showing us how he does the newest trick – a “corkscrew breach”.
The afternoon cruises got even better as the sea state dropped right off and the wind died down. It started quiet with just one mum and calf spotted but they showed us how close they could swim under the boat, then whales popped up everywhere with five different pods all getting active we saw pec slaps tail slaps and peduncle throws from mum calf and escort the afternoon cruise was one to remember.
Come and join us over the school holidays for “a whaley good time” with your family and friends!
