Finally the sun is back on the Sunshine Coast and the wind has died down, so that we can go whale watching again. We had such high demand that we decided to run two cruises today. A morning as well as an afternoon cruise. The weather conditions were fantastic for whale watching today. We had 1-1.5 meter swells and a 3-5 knot SW breeze and beautiful sunshine. On the morning cruise we saw a total of 6 whales. We first saw one single adult whale on his way up north. The whale came close to the boat and we witnessed some fluke up dives. Then we saw two more pods of two whales swimming by close to the boat and another adult single whale. On the afternoon cruise we had one particular active whale that was showing off just 3.5 miles east of Mudjimba. The whale was doing some great breaching and head launches as well as some beautiful fluke up dives.
