Today, whales were first spotted at 9.30am north/east of Point Cartwright. This pod of two gave a spectacular display of tail throws, peduncle dives, tail slaps as well as flick up dives. The beautiful waters off Mooloolaba gave such clear visibility to watch and admire these fabulous marine mammals. The swell today was bigger than expected and ranged between 1.5 and 2 metres with perfect wind conditions of 5 knots. The whale display was there for all who had prepared well for this morning.
