Today we had to go about 12 miles out to find the whales, but we were rewarded with a pod of three who showed off a few big breaches. They were also performing peduncle throws and pectoral waves. They swam close to the boat but didn’t stick around for too long since the seas were rather rough. On our way back to Mooloolaba we came across a mother and calf and followed them for our remaining time before heading home.
