Brilliant sea conditions and loads of activity. Starting with a Mother, calf & escort this morning just 3 miles off the coast. Whale One & her passengers and crew cruised out at 7am to find a humpback calf breaching in front of its mother, showing off while the escort tried a few tricks also. After a series of displays thrilling passengers these majestic humpbacks continued their long swim south.
The 10.30 am cruise and also the 2pm cruise saw many whales with plenty of antics to thrill the passengers. All the usual and more with double breaching, fluke up dives and oodles of close encounters the skipper rated today as a 10 out of 10 day. The day ended with late afternoon competition pod where 7 whales were fighting for the affection of a female whale.
