Today the seas were a little choppy with a very cool breeze blowing. The whales were happy just to swim along as we followed a pod of 2 humpbacks just 10m off Mooloolaba. The passengers were entertained by their antics. There were also a pod of 6 frollicking dolphins riding the bow waves for a short time.
We were alluded again by Migaloo “the white whale” and will be on the lookout once again later in the season when he passes by our shores on his Southern Migration.
The humpbacks are migrating North as far as the Whitsundays in the cooler months to mate and breed and then turn around and swim South to the antarctic in the summer months.
