Whale Fight Club!
Approximately 10 miles offshore we spotted some commotion so we headed over for further investigation. 2 juvenile humpbacks were in a competition fight! Swimming all around egging them on were some mischievous bottlenose dolphins. After around 5 minutes the fight appeared to be resolved and the dolphins started playing and swimming around the boat.
We headed off to another pod of 4 juveniles who wanted to say hello and were even pec slapping and waving at the passengers on board. The pod split up into 2 groups of 2 and gave us a few close encounters. Some great viewing today and we even got to see a large leatherback turtle who came right up to the boat before diving down to the depths. Lots of dolphins out and about cruising along near us on the way out and in.
