The morning trip today saw a pod of 2 whales, 5 nautical miles north of Point Cartwright. The passengers were lucky enough to be treated to some amazing closeup encounters with the whales, who displayed some fluke up dives. The sun tried hard to break through the clouds, but was still a great day out with calm conditions and a gentle swell.
This afternoons trip found a single male on a mission to catch up with his mates about 6 nautical miles out, and then the Skipper found another 2 whales who were happy to swim under and around the boat thrilling our guests with the very closest of close encounters as well as a fluke up dive. Conditions are still calm, and will remain so until later in the week when it turns a little nasty. Spaces still available Tuesday and Wednesday.
We have cancelled our trips for Thursday and Friday due to the weather, so if you are booked on and haven’t yet heard from our office staff, please contact us to move to a better weather day. Thanks from the Whale One office. 🙂
