WHALES GALORE were spotted this morning only a short way out. A pod of 8, a couple of dozen dolphins, then another pod found charging north. They were competition pods meaning that they were in their best form showing off for the ladies. Lots of pushing and shoving, fluke up dives, close encounters and aggressive behaviour typical of this time of year. Great conditions and calm seas stretching into the weekend. Seats filling fast if you were thinking of taking a trip.
Afternoon Trip – another wonderful afternoon of Whale Watching with very active single whale seen right at the mouth of the Mooloolaba entrance performing with fluke up dives, a few full breeches, perduncle throws and close encounters. Also lucky enough to see a mother and calf with the calf practicing his tail slaps. A few dolphins also thrown in to top off the day.
