15th October Morning Whale Report –

With clearing skies, we started our morning with a close encounter just off Point Cartwright coming across a mother and calf being accompanied by an escort.   They stayed around our boat before showing some fluke up dives and moving off.  1 nautical mile off Point Cartwright we encountered another mother and calf with an escort who put on a show with fluke up dives, peduncle throws, chin slaps and a half breach.  They came past the boat for a close encounter before we headed back to shore.

Afternoon Whale Report –

We had a great afternoon on the water with three pods of mother, calf and escort.  The second pod mugged our boat for a while giving us some close encounters.  The third pod we spotted were very energetic with the calf breaching and the escort doing half breaches and peduncle throws.  They were then joined by the second pod and all 6 whales gave us spectacular close encounters.104887_1517049z-bbevd6a161015l5bb62891517049zdg_1-1_6x8-copy 104888_1505034z-bbevd6a161015b5bb62891505034zru_1-1_6x8-copy 104889_1459019z-bbevd6a161015a5bb62891459019zqt_1-1_6x8-copy
